The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has commended the Hon. Ministry of Education, Mal. Adamu Adamu, and the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB), Prof.Is-haq Oloyede, for the approval granted for the conversion and upgrading of deserving staff.
This commendation by NASU was contained in a communique issued at the end of its 2nd General Congress held on 11th April, 2023, at the Board’s Auditorium.
The communique, which was signed by the Chairman JAMB-NASU Chapter, Comrade Andrew Onakpa, stated that the conversion and upgrading of deserving staff would enhance efficiency of labour, productivity commitment and career progression in the workplace.
The Communique read in parts: “the Congress-in-Session expressed its satisfaction as well as appreciation for the magnanimity of Management for approving the conversion/upgrading of its members.”
“In the same vein, the Congress thanked the Hon. Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, and the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, profoundly for making this conversion/upgrading possible during their tenure. This gesture clearly demonstrates their fatherly disposition borne out by their overarching desire to satisfy the yearnings of members of staff of the Board, who had almost lost hope of any career progression during their service years.”
NASU also thanked the Prof.Oloyede-led Management for the medical support given to one of its members, Mrs. Ruth Abalaka, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident in the course of the 2023 Mock-UTME.
Furthermore, the Union took note of the various innovations rolled out in the just-concluded mock examination stating that the seeming challenges have been largely addressed. The statement noted that these innovations were implemented to restore the sanctity of the examination in line with best global practices.
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Onakpa conveyed the unanimous and unalloyed support for Professor Is-haq O. Oloyede in view of the successes recorded so far by the Board under his leadership and consequently passed a vote of confidence on him and his Management Team so that they could continue with their good work.
