Ahead of the February 25 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed the reason for the Jagaban Army.
Speaking during an Arise Television interview on Thursday, the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, said Tinubu had done enough for Nigeria to be elected as president.
He explained that the Jagaban Army describes the APC youth wing supporters nationwide.
He dismissed the narrative that the ‘Jagaban Army’ connotes violence.
“We adopted the word ‘Jagaban Army’ because we are an army of young people, in other words, a battalion of young people. Of course, the battalion is synonymous with the nickname of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT. We adopted the phrase ARMY because, in the election, canvassers are called foot soldiers, so if you are foot soldiers, you are an army.
“Jagaban Army is not like a military organization or anything of such but a combination of foot-soldiers of the APC supporters for Asiwaju,” he said.
