Mama Janet Aderoju Akinyemi wife of Retired Archbishop Michael Olukayode Akinyemi has passed on to glory.

Family source said she died peacefully on Wedbesday 15 May 2024 in the United States of America while visiting her children and grandchildren .

The husband  Most Rev’d Akinyemi was with her when she breathed her last, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  She will  be buried in Ibadan Oyo State after a funeral service at Cathedral  Church of St James The Great Oke- Bola, Ibadan. Mrs Janet Aderoju Akinyemi was born on 16th October, 1954 at Tonkere in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State to Lates Pa James Adetunji  and Mrs Elizabeth Sajuola Amope Adetunji. A native of Modakeke, Osun State.Educational Background:She attended  Ansarudeen Primary School, Ode Omu and Gbongan/ Ode Omu Anglican Grammar School, Gbongan in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State between 1973-1978. She later proceeded to Local Authority Teacher Training College, Iyana-Offa via Ibadan,Oyo State between 1979-1981 for her higher learning. To further her knowledge in her teaching career,  she obtained her National Certificate in Education (NCE) from Oyo State College of Education Ilesa. This she maintained as trained teacher in building the generational future leaders up the time of retirement as Assisted Head Teacher.Marital Life:Her first encounter in 1976/77 with her  husband, Most Revd Michael Olukayode Akinyemi (Rtd), at Tonkere as a committed church lady, grew in a serious relationship that led to their marriage on 6th August, 1983 at Modakeke.
