Whoever is thinking of taking over from Festus Akingbaso in few years should not just bank on his political will but his Chi. If he could seek the face of the Lord via his true apostles, he would have been furnished with the saddening message from the throne of glory, that Akingbaso embodies Cleopatra’s version of beauty in character. That he will end up becoming a charismatic landlord in the people’s government. That he will be accorded a maximum respect and shown to be notoriously approved for further leadership engagements, without hassles and tussles. And accross party lines.
The merited, tough and triumphant entry into government, duly consummated with an apostolic thanksgiving yesterday, will only make the test of relevance and continual validation of the people’s mandate in Festus Akingbaso. I can bet anything with this assertion. I have taken my time to compile reasons why I think this political egg head and revolutionary strategist, will not be supplanted by the sweeping tide and the intriguing waters of politics. With his strong will, unchallenged romance with the people, he cannot be defeated by the powerful and fortified Goliaths, spiritual forces and cats with seven lives. He is the young David who obsessed with the three stones of his magnetic character, simplicity and determination. May those beautiful features continue to endure and fight for him.
Without sounding immodest, Festus is an encyclopaedia of Idanre history and tradition. His Midas touch has rubbed off on what used to be the modest palace of Idanre. By transforming the palace of Idanre without making a criminal publicity, he has planted his name in the hearts of the community people. He has also given the hope that should he be back in government, he wouldn’t neglect the monuments and dilapidated Idanre hills. He is popular for accepting responsibilities, no wonder many described him as father on the father’s day. He doesn’t hide under the cloak of constitutional roles and responsibilities by neglecting public utilities or responsibilities. He is the man with the magical wand. He will also build something on nothing.
Imagining a man who was described as incoherent by the enemies of his soul. The mischief makers downplayed his revolutionary roles at the pocketed Ondo State House of Assembly. The fake intellectuals, juvenile delinquents, who cannot even measure up to him in business acumen, wisdom and white man’s education conspired to further their propagandic and political aims. But God and the people still deemed him worthy and handed over the crown of glory to him. At his historical glorification, a loyal and innocent soul was mowed down in controversial circumstances by hooded thugs masquerading as soldiers.
I feel the departed soul is proud of Akingbaso and his modest dealings. At his historical feast of celebration yesterday, attended by the politikoz and Paparazzis in Ondo State; he was modestly dressed. He did not mandate the enforcement of rules and would not enter in a motorcade. He didnt man himself with terrific security men. His children and wife entered the feast, just like the woman selling Booli on the face of the streets. It was called the people’s party and not a place for the VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE only. There was no need for limited Pass.
With many reasons I cannot state in the course of this public hint, I think Akingbaso will stay long in government.
