But talks for their main targets Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have stalled.

The Gunners wanted to wrap up a deal before their pre-season tour to Singapore and Hong Kong in mid-July.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko was the frontrunner to lead Arsenal’s attack next season. It was previously believed that a fee of around £60million could be enough to land the 22-year-old.

But the Bundesliga club wants a figure closer to the £70m release clause in Sesko’s contract.

It is a similar situation with Gyokeres. It was speculated that Gyokeres could be sold for less than his £85m buyout clause.

However, Sporting president Frederico Varandas has publicly denied any prior gentleman’s agreement allowing Gyokeres to leave for £59m.

The Portugese champions are now demanding around £67m for the 27-year-old, a valuation Arsenal are hesitant to meet, considering the striker’s limited resale value.
