Tottenham are reportedly lining up a move in the January transfer window for Juventus and England Under-21 star Samuel Iling-Junior.

Iling-Junior came through the academy at Chelsea before moving to Italy to sign for Juventus in 2020.

The 20-year-old made his debut for the Serie A side last season, scoring once in his twelve league appearances for the side.

However, his minutes have been sparce this season, with the youngster only making four substitute appearances so far this term.

And, according to The Independent, Spurs may now look to make a swoop in the new year, offering him a return to England and the potential of Champions League football the following year should Spurs’ good start under new boss Ange Postecoglou continue.

The forward mainly plays on the wing but has deputised more centrally and could offer Postecoglou some much-needed cover after key injuries to several players.

The north London club lost both James Maddison and Micky van der Ven to long-term injuries in their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea, with Postecoglou’s depleted squad going on to lose back-to-back games after a dramatic 2-1 loss against Wolves on Saturday.

Richarlison is also facing a spell on the sidelines after having an operation on a groin injury, but the Brazilian is expected to return within the coming weeks.

Iling-Junior is contracted to the Italian club until 2025, but Spurs will hope to use their previous successful dealings with Juventus as foundations upon which to agree a deal.

Previously, both Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur made the switch from Turin to north London in January 2022.

Summer signings Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie were also both brought in from Serie A, with the goalkeeper and full-back enjoying bright starts under Postecoglou.
