Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday revealed details of his conversation with Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, amid his country’s ongoing war with Russia.
Zelenskyy, in a post on X, said he informed Støre about Tuesday’s Russian strikes targeting civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
According to him, he also discussed Ukraine’s upcoming engagements with its partners with the Norwegian leader.
“I spoke with Norway’s Prime Minister
@jonasgahrstore. I informed him about today’s Russian strikes targeting civilian infrastructure in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote.
“Our people are doing everything possible to assist the victims and eliminate the consequences of these attacks.
“We discussed our upcoming engagements with partners and coordinated our joint positions. Norway supports the importance of maintaining pressure on Russia for the sake of peace — and that is truly important. The path to peace must begin with an unconditional ceasefire — exactly as proposed by the United States and supported by Ukraine.
“We also spoke about expanding our security cooperation in multilateral formats and agreed to work on this together. Thank you, Norway, for your support.”
This comes after Zelenskyy issued a renewed call for a full ceasefire with Russia before holding any talks with Moscow, following drone attacks on four cities.
