Royal leader of Ikot Ene-Obong in Calabar Is Dead

The Royal leader of the Ikot Ene-Obong in Calabar, Cross River State, Ene-Obong Effiong Ene-Obong, has passed away. He died at the age of 74.

His son, Abasi, announced the monarch’s demise on his Instagram handle on Wednesday, 20th of September, 2023.

Sharing an obituary of the deceased, Abasi partly wrote,

“My father was a great man and a good man. He embodied what it meant to live one’s life in service to others. And he was very wise and spiritual.

“He was my rock. Almost every time I had a major challenge I went to him not because he solved my problems but he gave me the tools to solve them for myself – practical words of advice and an ever so subtle yet powerful confidence booster such as ‘you have the power’, ‘you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to’ and more. I

“It’s because of him I even studied genetics (he studied it first). He was my guide.”
