The 37-year-old disclosed this in a lengthy post on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

Newspot reports that this comes after Di María featured in Benfica’s Club World Cup defeat to Chelsea in the Round of 16 last weekend.

Di María, who is currently the top scorer in the ongoing Club World Cup, insisted that it’s time for him to return home.

“Today, it’s time to return home, my Europe career is over. After 18 years in Europe, it’s time to go home,” Di María said.
