In Abuja the Federal Capital Territory there is absolute disregard to traffic lights. Motorists are beating these lights randomly.
As a result there is an increase in crashes of vehicles at various interchanges in the city.
This has led the Vehicle Inspection Officers responsible for traffic control to deploy their men to enforce compliance from reckless motorists.
The newspot reporters that went round the city recorded five auto accidents at Wuse, Airport road, Jabi junction , Garki and Gudu.in the last 24 hours.
They also found out that because of the influx of those arriving for the Christmas and New Year celebrations there are now gridlock of vehicles everywhere..
One of the motorists simply named Kunle: ” It looks those in Abuja have reconciled themselves with the high cost of fuel pump price. Everywhere you see lots of congestion of human activities.
” The authorities have to do something urgent against those flouting traffic lights. Because there is no sanction they are doing this with impunity.”
