Bandits operating in Dutsin-ma Local Government Area of Katsina State were repelled by security forces on Friday following a fierce gun duel, forcing the attackers to flee and leaving behind all stolen items.
The incident was disclosed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a security analyst, Bakatsine on Friday night.
According to Bakatsine, a local vigilante lost his life in the line of duty.
The security analyst commended the swift and courageous response of the Dutsin-ma Police Division.
“Kudos to the Dutsin-ma Police Division and their team for bravely repelling bandits, recovering all stolen items, and forcing the attackers to flee after a fierce gun duel,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of press time, the Katsina State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
