Karim Benzema was full of praise for N’Golo Kante after the Chelsea star decided to join his former international team-mate in Saudi Arabia.
Kante left Chelsea after seven years at Stamford Bridge to sign a four-year deal with champions Al Ittihad.
He’s the club’s second high profile signing of the summer, following an astonishing move to sign Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the first big name to move to the middle-east but Benzema, Kante, Ruben Neves and a host of other stars have now followed, with scores of others expected to join.
Benzema and Kante are former France team-mates but they will reunite in Jeddah next season.
And the Ballon d’Or winner labelled Kante the ‘best box-to-box player in the world’ following his decision to join him in Saudi Arabia.
‘One time I told you, you’re the best player, box to box, in the world,’ said Benzema.
‘Now I’m happy to play with you again, and of course, in the best team in Saudi.’
Kante won’t be the last Chelsea player to move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Hakim Ziyech is close to completing a move, while Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy could follow.
