The death of Ambassador Ibironke Adefowope, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia and Malawi has thrown many people in Ibadan capital of Oyo State into mourning in the last 24 hours.
She passed on at the age of 73. He was a woman of charm, socialite and generous philanthropic.
Born in Ibadan, Oyo State on 23rd February 1952, Adefope enjoyed a fulfilled life.
After her primary school education, she attended the reputable Saint Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan, then the capital of the now-defunct Western Region of Nigeria.
She also attended the International School of the University of Ibadan, (ISI) for her Advanced Level studies, after which she travelled to the United States of America (USA) for her first and second degrees.
She was blessed with parents who knew the importance of education and were ready to go bankrupt to give their children quality education.
A honorary doctorate degree holder from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, she was until her death, a member of the Elders Council of Oyo State..
