“I did not know the people who came to my bar were police officers” – Portable says after his arrest (video)

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, following his refusal to accept the police’s offer.

Following the expiration of the 72-hour deadline issued to him by the Ogun State police command, the Zazoo singer was taken into custody on Friday, March 31.

Recall that on March 28th, videos of Portable attempting to elude capture and verbally abusing police officers went viral.

The police then gave him a 72-hour ultimatum to report himself to the nearest police station or be arrested by Friday.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, commented on the development and verified that the singer had been detained and was presently at the state police offices in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi added that Portable was detained after turning down five offers.

Additionally, it was learned that the performer will continue to be held by authorities until Monday, April 3, when he will face legal charges.

While the singer was being questioned in custody, he claimed that he did not know the people who came to his bar to arrest him were police officers.
