This is despite the scarcity of cash and pre-election violence that has enveloped parts of the state, especially Ijesa North and Ijesa South federal constituencies.

It was reported that several lives were lost and properties destroyed when supporters of the two major political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, clashed.

Newspot reports have it that at most of the Polling Units (PUs) visited, voters were observed checking their names on the list of voters.

Newspot also reliably gathered that voting started at exactly 8:30 am in the PUs in Osogbo.

Agboke, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun, had, in a radio programme on Friday, stated that voting would commence in all the PUs at exactly 8:30am and end at 2:30pm.

Agboke also warned that any individual without the Permanent Voter Cards would not only be disefranchised but prosecuted.

The residents were also observed to be complying with the restrictions of movement by the Police.

Also, security personnel were on hand to forestall any unforeseen circumstances.
