Fifteen passengers lost their lives in auto crash at Mairuwa village along Funtua- Sokoto road on Saturday afternoon 9 November 2024.
The accident occurred at noon in a lone accident when the Haice bus suffered tyre burst, the driver lost control and smashed into a Sino truck belonging to Dangote Group.
Spokesperson of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Olusegun Ogungbemile confirmed the crash. He disclosed that it involved 28 passengers 23 males adult 1male 1 female adult 3 Females children. I5 lost their lives on the spot. 11 male adults 1 Female adult and 3 females children. 13 suffered various injuries now admitted at Funtua General Hospital
FRSC Corps Marshall Shehu Mohammed appealed to transporters to always see to the fitness of their vehicles. He said the accident in question was due lack of maintenance.
