The English Premier League, EPL, enters its 27th matchday this weekend with the expectation of more drama.

Newspot looks at some of the talking points as the week twenty-seven Premier League games start on Saturday afternoon and will end on Sunday evening.

As of today, Arsenal are currently five points ahead of second position Manchester City on the Premier League table after 26 games.

Who will drop points between Arsenal and Man City this weekend:

Arsenal are currently on top of the Premier League table with five points ahead of Man City, with 12 games remaining to conclude the season.

Both teams are currently on top form as Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-2 in their last Premier League fixture, while Man City defeated Newcastle United.

However, Arsenal drew 2-2 with Sporting Lisbon in their last game in the Europa League on Thursday.

But Man City players have rested well ahead of their Premier League tie with Crystal Palace this weekend after playing their last game against Newcastle United last weekend.

Arsenal, on the other hand, will face Fulham on Sunday after playing against Sporting a few days ago.

Could fatigue affect the Gunners’ players against Fulham? Only time will tell, as Man City players have rested well ahead of their clash with Palace.

Leicester vs Chelsea:

This match will take place on Saturday evening at the King Power Stadium.

It is arguably the biggest Premier League match this weekend.

Chelsea head to the game after beating Leeds United 1-0 in their last Premier League fixture, while Leicester lost 1-0 to Southampton.

But both teams are not in top form this season. However, Leicester have scored more goals than Graham Potter’s side so far this season. Chelsea can get a point at Leicester as they have conceded lesser goals than the host.

The Blues are currently in the 10th position on the Premier League table with 34 points from 25 games, while the Foxes are in the 15th position with 24 points from the same number of games.

The kick-off time for the match is 4pm.

Richarlison vs Antonio Conte:

Richarlison recently slammed Conte’s managerial tactics and described Tottenham’s season as s***.

The Brazilian said this after Tottenham’s Champions League exit at the hand of AC Milan in mid-week.

However, Conte hit back at the former Everton striker, saying he is ‘selfish’.

Conte said ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League tie with Nottingham Forest: “First of all, I watched the interview of Richarlison. His season has not been good.

“I think he made a mistake. When you speak of ‘I’ and not ‘us’, you are being selfish.”

Bruno Fernandes and Man United captaincy:
There have been calls for Man United manager Erik ten Hag to strip Fernandes of the Man United captain armband since their 7-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

Fernandes has had the armband for most of the season with Harry Maguire’s continued absence from the Manchester United squad.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville branded Fernandes’ actions a ‘disgrace’ after the Liverpool defeat.

However, Ten Hag has ‘no plans’ to strip the Portugal international of the armband after calls for the player to have the captaincy removed following his performance against Liverpool on Sunday.

Harry Kane’s future with Tottenham:
Kane has been advised by former Premier League stars, including Rio Ferdinand, to leave Tottenham and join a club where he can win a trophy as soon as possible.

The advice came after Tottenham’s Champions League elimination on Wednesday.

Tottenham crashed out of the Champions League round of 16 second-leg fixture after playing a 0-0 draw with AC Milan in England, having lost the first leg 1-0 in Italy in February.

However, Kane will have to make a major decision over his future at the end of the season.

The England captain warned his teammates that they have ‘no option’ but to focus on a renewed push for a top-four position after their UEFA Champions League exit.
