Dasuki stated this while receiving a delegation of retired civil servants from Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency, led by Alhaji Sani Mode Dagon Daji, during a courtesy visit.

The delegation visited the lawmaker to appreciate the inclusion of an earth dam project for Dogon Daji Town in the federal budget.

According to Dasuki, Sokoto State has witnessed a major increase in revenue from federal allocations in the past three years, particularly from the last quarter of 2023.

He said the current financial inflow to the state should be enough to support improved workers’ welfare while also addressing challenges in healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural development.

Dasuki said civil servants deserve better welfare, especially in view of the rising cost of living and the important role they play in governance and development.

The lawmaker also called for improved pensions and retirement benefits for retired civil servants, describing them as citizens who devoted their productive years to the service of the state.

He expressed concern over poverty, weak healthcare delivery, low school enrolment, and the high number of out-of-school children in Sokoto State.

Dasuki also noted that insecurity continues to affect economic activities and community wellbeing across the state.

He urged retired civil servants to continue contributing to the future of Sokoto through responsible civic engagement and informed participation in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections.

The lawmaker also announced empowerment initiatives for youths in the constituency, directing the delegation to submit 350 names for participation in his ICT/Digital Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Programme supported by NITDA.

He further disclosed plans to provide laptops to 70 students from the constituency studying in higher institutions as part of efforts to promote digital literacy and educational advancement.

Dasuki reaffirmed his commitment to attracting projects and programmes that directly improve the lives of his constituents, saying the Dogon Daji earth dam project would support agriculture, water supply, and rural economic development.

The delegation commended him for his representation and developmental initiatives, particularly the inclusion of the earth dam project in the federal budget.
