The Chairman, Chief Technical Advisors, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Bashir Galadanci, has commended the Board for its impressive outing in the just-concluded Mock-UTME, 9which took place on Thursday, 30th March, 2023. He stated that the challenges encountered would only serve to make for a perfect 2023 UTME exercise scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 25th April, 2023 to Wednesday, 3rd May, 2023.
Prof. Galadanci made this remark during a virtual interactive meeting with Technical Officers, BVM officers and State Technical Advisors, held on Thursday, 13th April, 2023, from the Board’s National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.
“Many people may see the mock examination as a total failure but I say it is not. For me, the exercise was the best I have seen since I started participating in the Board’s activities. This is because, the purpose of conducting the mock examination, which is to allow us to test all our systems (hardware and software), personnel and the various policies we have put in place for the purpose of conducting a seamless UTME, was largely achieved. For the candidates, it is a veritable eay of giving candidates the opportunity to see how they would fare in the actual examination.”
“The Registrar is a man of innovations and every year, he tries to push the border a little further and, this year, he had put in place new policies and innovations which the Board implemented in the mock to test their functionality, hence the challenges we faced were, indeed, expected,” he said.
He commended the resilience of the Technical Officers, BVM Officers and all other field officers who had been relentless in their efforts to ensure a successful outing. He disclosed that the Board, upon taking stock of these challenges, had been able to strengthen its processes to ensure that all its systems are working perfectly and promised that the 2023 UTME would be one of the best ever conducted by the Board.
