Asagba of Asaba and some South South Traditional Rulers Meet Tinubu in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu met with the Asagba of Asaba, Delta State, Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge, SAN, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The monarch arrived alongside other royal fathers, believed to be members of the Obi-in-Council.

The meeting comes amid rising tension following Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State. The emergency rule, announced earlier this week, led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and all members of the State House of Assembly for an initial period of six months.

As part of the emergency measures, the President also appointed former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.), as the sole administrator of Rivers State.
