Arson attack: Family of ex-Benue gov Aper Aku cries for justice

The family of the first civilian governor of Benue State, late Aper Aku, whose residence was razed down by hoodlums in an arson attack in the Gboko area of the state, have cried out for for justice.

The family is also seeking support of the public and other well meaning individuals to cushion the effect of the attack that have rendered them homeless.

Newspot recalled that the Aper Aku Gboko residence was razed by hoodlums last Monday.

It was alleged that trouble started between the family of the former governor and their neighbors over alleged destruction of maize farm and killing of goats.

The neighbors alleged that Aku’s family members killed their goats, which were said to have destroyed the family’s maize farm.

The development triggered an arson attacks on Aku’s family, leading to the razing of the building.

A daughter of the Aper Aku family, Deborah Aku disclosed that the family lost everything to the fire set to their home, including original copies of credentials.

“My family and I were almost burnt with the house, it was the police that rescued us but we lost all our properties.”

“I plead that people should help us to get justice and compensation for this cruel act. We have been rendered homeless.”
