Team Akwa Ibom men’s basketball team put on an inspirational performance in the last quarter of their match against Team Anambra to come back from behind to win 42-40 in the last quarter.
Anambra were up by seven points with just two minutes left in the final quarter, with score at 40-33, but Akwa Ibom took advantage of their opponents’ complacency late on and punished them with the narrow win.
The Akwa Ibom side prevented Anambra from winning any point in the final quarter, and played the last two minutes with a 9-0 win in the dramatic encounter.
Anambra will be hoping to bounce back, with games against Gombe, Kaduna, FCT and Lagos still to come.
Meanwhile, Imo men’s basketball team also defeated Ogun 47-40, while Lagos women’s team blew out Nasarawa 65-18.
