When you are a multimillionaire in Nigeria like Aliko Dangote. Elizade AdeOjo or Aare Afe Babalola or General Theophillus Danjuma or Oonirisa Ojaja Ogunwusi, or Emir Lamido Sanusi, you don’t have to seek for any favor from people before you get it.
You will get such a favor even from people who have never met you but who only know you by name or by reputation thru some of the extraordinary things you may have done in the country.
Scammers and Yahoo Boys would even use your name without your consent or permission, if they can get away with it.
Let me use myself as a public example with all of my education and my exposure as an Ajala travel all over the world. I am not by any stretch of the imagination a rich man at all but I am amazed when people just look at my profiles on Facebook and they start asking me for favors totally above my pay grade to give.
I just stumbled on an advertisement on YouTube announcing that Kabiyesi the Oonirisa Ojaja Babatunde Adeyeye Ogunwusi who I first met on his first official trip to the United States a few years ago.
The highly respected monarch had come to America with the biggest Entourage of 100 people made up of 25 traditional rulers and very important personalities who came ln a convoy of Limousines led by New Jersey Police Escorts and Secret Service Agents all over the place to guarantee crowd control and security for him and his Entourage.
His Entourage went around the few cities he visited in so many vehicles and Buses just like any visiting Head of State or the Pope would have done
While the Pope always rides in his open roof mini Fiat saloon, Ojaja had come in with pomp and pageantry riding alone in the back of the latest model of his Silver Cloud Rolls Royce usually associated with Celebrities like the Queen of England or Emperor Hiro Hito of Japan or Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia or Emperor Mansa Musa the richest man in the World during his Era.
I was among the Non-Ife dons and daughters who came from my Base in Long Island, New York and who donated money to give the young handsome charismatic Arole Oodua a befitting welcome to the glamorous and famous Ukrainian Event Center at Somerset, New Jersey where the Oonirisa was introduced as the African Emperor. It was a description that nobody could have denied.
Who can dispute that description because of the way the awesome Businessman and Furniture Magnate before becoming King, had packaged himself for that trip.
That was a picture of him I had in my brains when I stumbled on the advertisement of the Mall and the majestic Estate of Duplex Properties he had built in Akure the State Capital of Ondo State, my home away from home.
The man was alleged to have built that amazing Estate in Akure to entice or please his young and beautiful Olori that every Dick and Harry in Nigeria and the Social Media now address as Queen Naomi as if the paragon of Beauty is now Kate Middleton the current Princess of Wales.
The young woman is just one of the many Oloris of the new Arole Oodua and they are presenting her and she herself is allowing her image makers to package her as the Queen and as the mother of the Crown Prince and the “Edaiken” of Ile Ife even though Ile Ife unlike Benin, does not have a hereditary Monarchy.
it is not at all likely that the little boy Ojaja has named as Adenikawo Adesoji Aderemi who was arguably the greatest and the most famous Oonirisa who has doubled down as the first indigenous Governor of Western Region in Ile Ife History.
The Oonirisa craves and loves publicity as the most important royal father in the Yoruba Southwest
Ojaja is a very charismatic Businessman and a Royal Father that has one big agenda of his own that many people are now getting to know or speculate about.
I instantly fell for his Estate or Mall in Akure. I immediately showed some interest in buying one of the properties because I instantly believed the Oonirisa or the African Emperor I saw in Somerset in New Jersey can never and will never be associated with any Estate that is not going to be top of the chart because of the man’s name recognition and his charisma as a very rich royal father.
I still believe that to be the case and I hope to God that myself and so many Nigerians living abroad who are falling over each other to go buy some of those properties that are being sold for millions of Naira would not be shortchanged or disappointed by possibly buying a pig in the poke when the push comes to shove because not all that glitters is gold. I just hope it won’t come to that.
The point I am making here is the same point I made when Dele Farotimi allege that Aare Afe Babalola might have used his big influence and wealth in Nigeria to speak to the IG or the Police Commisioner in Ekiti State to lock him up without bail. The Police may have done that on their own and not based on any influence leveraged by Pa Afe Babalola who I know very well and can vouch for as a decent man who will never use that kind of influence on his worst enemy.
You know the same Nigerians who are now criticizing Afe Babalola are the same people now accusing Oonirisa of trying to intimidate Queen Naomi his estranged Olori.
My point is that the Oonirisa may never have played the role he was being accused to have played in the incarceration or detention of his former Queen who is still being held till now.
That is Nigeria for all of us.
Don’t be surprised if we later find out that Aare Afe Babalola did not specifically ask any Police to lock up Farotimi.
We may also find out that the Oonirisa did not play the role he was being accused of in reference to the detention of poor Queen Naomi who got caught in a web of intrigue and a comedy of avoidable errors that had led led to the unpremeditated death of 35 innocent children at Ibadan.
I rest my case.
