South Africa dominated the honors of the African U20 male football tournament held in Egypt with Best Goalkeeper award to Fletcher Smythe-Lowe and Best Player to Tylon Smith with Nigeria not showing up on the list.

 

Sierra Leonean striker, Momoh Kamara got the highest scorer award with four goals in the tournament that saw 55 goals in 28 matches.

 

South Africa won the title for the first time in 28 years of trials; Morocco won the Silver; Nigeria bagged the Bronze while hosts Egypt placed 4th.

All the four teams will represent Africa at the world cup finals coming up in Chile from 27th September to 19th October 2025 which will feature 24 teams with the Defending Champions, Uruguay that was ousted along the line. The South American country makes the 8th world champion that will not defend their title.

 

Among the African teams, Nigeria is going to make her 13th appearance at the Mundial; Egypt 8th; South Africa 4 and Morocco 3rd appearances.
