Osogbo, Nigeria — The AMBO Media Fronts have rejected what they describe as a “baseless rumour” alleging an alliance between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Adebayo Adedeji, the group accused individuals within the Osun State Government of spreading the claim to boost Governor Adeleke’s political relevance.

According to the AMBO Media Fronts, the narrative of an alleged political understanding between the President and the governor is “entirely false” and should be viewed as part of ongoing political messaging ahead of the election.

The group reiterated its support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, describing him as aligned with the policy direction of the current federal administration.

It noted that Oyebamiji had recently engaged with President Tinubu to present development ideas for Osun State, particularly in sectors such as education, agriculture, and infrastructure.

The statement framed AMBO as a “tested administrator,” referencing his previous role at the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), where the group claimed he recorded measurable improvements in operations and revenue.

Criticism of Adeleke Administration

Beyond dismissing the alleged alliance, the AMBO Media Fronts criticized the Adeleke administration, raising concerns about governance priorities, rising education costs, and the execution of projects across the state.

The group also alleged weak coordination between the state and federal governments, particularly regarding federally supported initiatives.

The Osun State Government, however, has not issued an official response as of the time of filing this report.

Election Narrative Intensifies

Political observers note that the allegation of a Tinubu–Adeleke alliance has now become part of the broader political discourse in Osun State, even as it is being strongly disputed by the AMBO camp.

With the 2026 governorship election approaching, competing narratives are expected to shape voter perception, as political actors intensify efforts to define alliances, credibility, and performance.
