The body of an unnamed man was discovered near an electricity transformer in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Sunday 19 January 2025.
The victim was said to have met his death while attempting to vandalize the facility with a group of vandals, who fled the scene when their friend was electrocuted.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the surviving vandals made off with crucial electricity cables from the transformer, leaving behind the body of their friend.
The police have confirmed the incident, saying their personnel have removed the remains of the victim .
Spokesperson for the state police command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said, “The Adamawa state police command has today 19/1/2025 found a yet-to-be identified person at electric transformer along Ribadu square around 0600hrs, while trying to vandalize some electrical cables.
