Former Manchester United forward Terry Gibson has given his verdict on Chelsea target Samuel Omorodion.
Chelsea are in talks with Atletico Madrid to sign Omorodion for over £35 million this summer.
It was reported that both clubs have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the Spain U23 international and the Blues have also finalised personal terms with the player.
Speaking of the development, Gibson feels Chelsea are buying potential in Omorodion.
“No one is being too critical of Omorodion. It’s incredible that Chelsea have lumped in straightaway, so Atletico Madrid paid six million euros and they are going to sell him for 30 million. They are buying potential; centre forwards do cost a lot of money,” Gibson said on Sky Sports.
“They will be hoping that in the future, the £30-odd million they are paying Atletico is going to be money well spent but it’s a tough one, to be honest.”
