Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has named Manchester City as the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
Ferdinand believes Pep Guardiola’s side are level above other teams in the competition.
The former England international spoke on Wednesday night after Man City advanced to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League after beating FC Copenhagen 3-1 in the round of 16 second leg tie at the Etihad Stadium.
Goals from Manuel Akanji, Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland gave the Premier League champions the win over the visitors
“I just don’t see anybody beating them over two legs. Then it depends on who gets in the final,” Ferdinand told TNT Sports post-match.
“Whoever they are playing against in the final needs that stardust from one or two players who can turn a game on its head, then they have an opportunity, a chance.
“But City, I think they are standout favourites. They are a level above.”
Man City are the current reigning champions after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final last season.
