Minister for the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, has been advised to let his actions to wear human face by focusing on other areas that needed attention other than lands, pulling down buildings and ownership issues.
This advice came from Panelists in a heated television argument in Abuja. Though they could not agree on Wike’s present style of administration in the Federal Capital Territory FCT rather they agreed to caution him over some of his recent outbursts.

They were participating on a daily discussion programme : “Now Streaming” on the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion owned Television Advent Cable Network Nigeria ACNNTV .
The panelists were made of Chief P.U Emmanuel, a PDP Chieftain from Rivers state, Paul Smith Obasi, a former ADC FCT Senatorial Candidate and Honorable Chris George who is an APC Chieftain
While Chief P.U Emmanuel was of the opinion that the selection of Nyesom Wike “is not out of place” as his presence in the Federal Capital territory will be for the progress of Abuja and Nigeria as a whole.
But Paul Smith, disagreed with Chief Emmanuel though he praised Wike for his good works in Rivers State however he should know he ‘is now in an unfamiliar environment.”
Though he praised the former governor for his vision to physical uplift of FCT, by promising to provide certain needs, improve power supply and open grazing within the Capital Territory,
However he said the main focus of the Minister should not just be on land issues but other pressing issues in the FCT such as policy issues, economic issues, health issues and many more. Notably increasing the revenue base especially in the agricultural sector.
In his own contribution Chris George made a comparison on the performances of the former Rivers state Governor Peter Odili and opined that Nyesom Wike performances were far below Odili.
He cautioned the Minister to be very careful with his actions and inactions in the FCT. He also advised the President to be mindful of people appointed into his cabinet.
He told him to be cautious of being too vocal on social media over little things of no substance. Much of these he did while in Rivers State.
In all, the government was advised to lay a good foundation because the foundation of good governance is public trust and trust is earned by transparency, accountability and inclusivity and that listening can be more powerful than speaking.
