In order to seek for his re-election this year, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed some of his administration’s achievements  in Lagos ever since he became governor of the state.

The governor made this known while speaking on a televised programme .

Starting with the education sector, he said his administration had continuously increased the budget year in year out , which according to him needed more sustainability .

” Last year, we did about eleven percent of our total budget, so till date we’ve built over a thousand and forty-seven new classrooms in less than four years”.

The governor also went further to say that his government has introduced tablets for teachers to use in teaching their students and pupils in which according to him, will help to make things better in terms of gathering lesson notes , as well as curb absenteeism.
” We’ve been able to give out tablets that are given to teachers in Primary schools, for them to have same curriculum at that level, ensure that we can reduce absenteeism, truances, and also, quality of teaching across all primary schools have been made the same “.

He also said that Lagos State had been able to build two tertiary institutions which are: University of Science and Technology, as well as University of Education.

In the area of health, the governor revealed that Lagos had turned out to be the highest employer of medical practitioners in the country with quality facilities. ” We have built four additional hospitals like in Eti-Osa, Badagry, Epe, Alimosho”. ” We are the highest employer in the medical field in the entire country, LASU today is one of the best tertiary facilities that we have”.

Coming down to the issue of transportation which has also been a concern to residents in the state, Sanwo-Olu made mention of the fact that, with the assistance of his team, about one thousand, three hundred Bus Rapid Transit Vehicles ( BRT) had been introduced to help improve the movement of goods and services.

He promised the people of the state  that his administration would have what “is called an integrated mass transportation system which would reduce the time spent on the road by commuters in the state.”
