The promise of our Constitution often eulogized by ACLU (American Civil Liberty Union)means nothing if compared to the Injustice and the Inequity of the American Electoral College Provision.
For the benefit of many of the fans of this Column who are not students of Political Science and who may have thought like I once did that the American Constitution plus the subsequent Amendments added to it by generation of leaders who had followed the Founding Fathers, is to me, the 8th Wonder of the World based on its uniqueness and its efficacy, and all things considered.
It is a wonderful Document similar to but even more superior to the “Magna Carter” in my opinion.
I will be the first to confess that the American Constitution is next in line to the British Constitution which is arguably the best in the World left to me alone.
I can tell you that because I have researched other Constitutions including that of France, Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan and last and not the least the Constitution of the tiny State of Israel before coming to my conclusion.
I must hasten to add, however, that the British Constitution in particular is superior to all of those Constitutions because it is an unwritten Constitution which is predominantly based on well established conventions and what is decent, humane and acceptable to Society.
British political leaders don’t wait till they are no longer wanted by the people who put them in power to begin with, before they do what is right.
That is why you have the King or the Queen of England and few Prime Ministers and Cabinet Ministers not waiting till somebody points a gun to their Head before they quit or tender their resignation if they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar or when they do something that is so outrageously disgraceful and appalling or embarrassing or contradictory to their oath of office, they quit before they are forced out by their people or by their own guilty conscience.
The Kings or the Queens of England don’t pay taxes before but as time goes by and as Public Opinion became so critical and loud about the development, Queen Elizabeth clearly saw the handwriting on the wall and she voluntarily offered to start paying taxes because she knew it was the right thing to do.
The same Queen immediately changed her aloofness and indifference to the death and burial of Princess Diana when the accident first occurred because she recognized that the Public was very critical of her indifference or bland affect on the tragic death.
She quickly and wisely changed her tune and she got more involved and deferential to the Peoples Princess without anybody telling her.
British Politicians don’t sit tight and damn the consequence like Donald Trump and some of his partners-in-crime have been doing in the United States where Donald Trump was caught on camera telling a reporter he used to grab women by their pussies because the women just let him do it because he is a Rock Star.
That confession was a blunder that would have forced him to withdraw from the race, if he were running for public office in the UK
Once that became an open confession Donald Trump would not have survived the aftermath in the U. K. He would have had to resign but not so in the rough and tumble politics of America where anything is possible.
Donald Trump would have had to resign immediately and to offer a public apology without wasting time at all if he were running for office in the U.K.
King Edward the VIII was offered the choice to either stick to his divorcee fiancée Sarah Simpson of America or abdicate his throne because British Royal Etiquette and Protocols did not permit their King to marry a divorcee at that point in time in the History of the U.K.
King Edward had chosen to abdicate the throne and that singular act of courage or principle had fundamentally changed the History of the Monarchy in the UK as it turned out.
The father of Queen Elizabeth, Prince George the VI would never have been King and Princess Elizabeth would never have been Queen and Prince Charles would never have been King If for any reason King Edward had refused to abdicate.
I rank the British Constitution as easily the best in the World, if you ask me.
But that said, the American Constitution without its Electoral College intrusion is a marvelous piece of work that was never fully tested until the Mafia Boss named Donald Trump had gatecrashed his way to the highest seat of Power thru the Abracadabra of the Electoral College of only 570 handpicked electors who hijacked or jettisoned the concept of one-man-one-vote guaranteed by the Popular Vote as the right way to elect the President of the United States.
If no less than 150 to 200 million Americans have voted in any election, that vote is often set aside in deference to the Electoral College Provision in the American Constitution.
A candidate may have lost the popular vote by 10 to 20 million, if the same candidate is able to win the Electoral College by a simple majority he automatically becomes the President.
It is an absurd way to elect a President in my view.
America has also embraced an obnoxious Gerrymandering
Starategy which says a Party can win only 30 percent of the votes in a particular State to control 60 or 70 percent of the total number of delegates representing that State.
Only in America is that abomination possible. It makes no sense but the Republican Party is notorious to have used that strategy to become the ruling Party in many of the Southern States because of the ways their Constitutions are written to always put the Blacks and the Minorities in those states at a permanent disadvantage compared to their white counterparts.
These two strategies are what Donald Trump and his supporters are counting on, when they gloat and when they say they are going to win in 2024, come rain or shine.
They could care less about winning the popular vote nation-wide.
Their strategy is just to focus all their energy on winning a simple majority out of the 570 electors of the Electoral College.
Once they do that, their candidate comes from behind to win the Presidency after losing the popular vote by several millions just like Donald Trump had done in 2016 when he lost by 3 million votes to Hillary Clinton.
Come on. Give me a break. How can someone lose the popular vote by 3 or 8 million and still be sworn in as President.
It makes no sense to me in a country governed by the Rule of Law and where Politicians are going around making the case for more voter registration everyday.
When those voters are registered, the politicians turn around to embrace the Electoral College which only respects the verdict of only 570 electors while setting aside the verdict of 150 to 200 million who had voted in that election.
Their candidate could also win in most of the States of America by resorting to their Gerrymandering Formula and yet they keep talking about the Democratic Party rigging them out. Tell me what rigging method is worse than the Electoral College and Gerrymandering gimmicks that Republicans are notorious for?
I can tell you without mincing words that there is no way in the World that Donald Trump can win the popular vote on the basis of one- man- one- vote in 2024.
He knows he is going to lose again by more than 10 million in 2024 just like he had lost the popular vote by close to 8 million in 2020 but he still had the effrontery to claim that he won the Election even though the case was adjudicated in no less than 60 litigations and the pathological liar had lost in all of them as documented.
Because the Outlaw and the Mafia Boss would not take a No for an answer, he had sponsored a Coup led by his supporters to take power by fire and by force by attacking the Capitol and by disrupting the formal certification of Election Results by Congress under the leadership of Vice President Michael Pence as the Constitutional President of the US Senate.
Donald Trump had openly ordered his supporters to march to the Capitol fully armed and if necessary to hang Michael Pence and to maim and kill, but to make sure that the formal certification and ratification of the elections did not take place on January 6, 2021.
Under the British Constitution, Donald Trump would long have resigned by now or be fired and be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law and sent to jail.
So when the ACLU talks about the Promise of the American Constitution, I am forced to ask them which promise?
Is it a promise that fraudulently empowers only 570 Electors to be the one to decide who is going to be sworn in as President of America even after that candidate may have lost the popular vote by more than 10 to 20 million?
It is a complete outrage to say the least!!!
It makes no sense to me. Help me somebody to explain why in 2023 the Electoral College Provision has not yet been expunged from the American Constitution? Why?
Donald Trump and his supporters know they cannot win in 2024 because their only hope is winning a simple majority from the 570 votes of the Electoral College which is put there to guarantee the victory of the White Race and to make it that much harder for any Minorities to be elected President in America.
That is why Barack Hussein Obama was the only one ever elected out of the 46 Presidents of America up till now
The Electoral College Contraption is racist in intent and it has outlived its usefulness and should be expunged from the Constitution with immediate effect and automatic alacrity.
I rest my case.
