Manchester City are without Nathan Ake for this afternoon’s visit to Chelsea.

The Dutchman has been a regular for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, and he had been expected to start against his former side.

However, Ake was not named either in the line-up nor on the bench as the champions looked to extend their winning run.

With an international break halting the Premier League for two weeks after today’s game, City will want to go into the break with a win.

But they’ll have to do so without Ake and it transpires that the Dutchman has sustained an injury to keep him out of the game in west London.

Guardiola will likely give an update on the defender’s condition after the fixture.

Ake could miss linking up with the Netherlands during the break as a result.
