Eight FA Cup fifth round ties are taking place across Tuesday and Wednesday – the first time this season that a round in the famous competition is being played exclusively on a midweek.

And the 16 sides still standing in the competition will be eager to have their name in the hat for when the quarter-final draw is held.

Those who do indeed make it safely through to the quarter-finals will face the tantalising prospect of being one game away from Wembley – and two from the final itself.

But exactly when is the FA Cup quarter-final draw and how can you watch it live on TV? Here are the all-important details.

When is the FA Cup quarter-final draw?

The quarter final draw will be held on Wednesday, March 1.

The draw will take place after the final tie of the round – Sheffield United vs Tottenham which kicks-off at 7.55pm.

How to watch the FA Cup draw on TV

It will be shown as part of the BBC One TV coverage of the match in Sheffield.

Fans will also be able to live stream the draw via the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer.

The draw should take place just before 10pm, but in the event that the game heads to extra-time and penalties, the draw will be pushed back to later in the evening.

When will the quarter-final games be played?

The quarter-finals will be held across the weekend of Saturday, March 18.

Replays will also not be used at this stage of the competition, with extra-time and penalties used to decide which teams advance to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will be held on the weekend of Saturday, April 22, with the final itself set for Saturday, June 3.
