Chief Bayo Osiyemi veteran journalist, ace sports writer, former Chief Press Secretary to former Governor of Lagos State Lateef Jakande and Chairman of Mushin Local Government is dead.
Cause of death not known but a Facebook post of Seyi Jakande Executive Chairman, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA said Osiyemi passed on Monday 24 November 2025.
The statement read:
“Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Offers Condolences on the Death of Prince Bayo Osiyemi
The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Prince Bayo Osiyemi, who passed away in the early hours of November 24.
Prince Bayo Osiyemi was a respected community leader known for his significant contributions to the lives of many. He dedicated himself to serving Lagos State in various capacities, including as the former Chief Press Secretary to the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, and Chairman of Mushin Local Government. He was a former Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
His legacy of dedication and service will not be forgotten. The Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA stands in solidarity with his family during this time of grief.
We urge the community to honor his memory through acts of service and goodwill. We pray for comfort and strength for his family, friends, and all those who were touched by his kindness.
