The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has announced that her country will respond swiftly as United States President Donald Trump’s 25 percent import tariff on Canada, China, and Mexico takes effect on Tuesday.
Sheinbaum said that the reciprocal tariffs and non-tariff measures will be made known on Sunday at 12 p.m.
According to her, there is justified action for the U.S. tariff decision.
She noted that it is not in Mexico’s interest to engage in a trade confrontation with the U.S., emphasizing that she is open to dialogue.
“We are responding with tariff and non-tariff measures,” Walter Bloomberg, an analyst on X, wrote, quoting President Sheinbaum on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Newspot reports that Canada and China have already announced reciprocal tariffs on U.S. imports.
