Osogbo, Osun State – In a heartwarming show of philanthropy and institutional commitment, the Kunle Buraimo (KB) Foundation has donated a sum of ₦10 million to the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), earmarked for the advancement of cybersecurity training and development.
At the official presentation held on campus, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIOSUN commended both the state government and the donor, noting that “The governor loves this university a lot. There’s nothing we take to his table that he doesn’t approve.” He added that the university is privileged to have supporters like Professor Kunle Buraimo, the founder of KB Foundation, who, he said, “is not building individuals but building an institution — when you build only yourself, you’re selfish.”
The event saw the formal handover of the ₦10 million donation by Prof. Buraimo himself to the Faculty of Computer Engineering on August 4, 2025. The gesture, described by attendees as “huge” and “inspiring,” drew a flood of gratitude from well-wishers, academic staff, and civic leaders alike.
In the words of one admirer, “Thanks so much, Sir, for your selfless and humanitarian service.” Another participant urged that the funds be translated into tangible equipment and tools for students, adding, “I don’t trust Nigerians in privileged positions. Please provide digital tools directly.”
A chorus of appreciation followed the donation, with remarks such as “History will smile at you” and “May God continue to bless you, sir,” punctuating the gathering.
This intervention marks one of the most significant private-sector contributions to cybersecurity education in Osun State in recent years and aligns with wider efforts to bolster tech talent in Nigeria.
