The Trump Presidency and how it has irredeemably damaged America beyond repairs. By Wumi Akintide

If George Washington Abraham Lincoln and FDR and Obama all shared the DNA and the profiles of a Donald Trump, America could never have been the best experiment in Human History talk less of the leader of the Free World and the greatest country bon Earth.

I watched yesterday in the comfort of my living room in New York on Channel 5 the last appearance of Barack Hussein Obama, the first and the only Black President in all of American History as he and his First Lady appeared for the last time at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner where Obama was the star of the occasion and where he delivered a speech and cast jokes most of which had gone down In History as the very best performance by any President in the History of the United States in my own judgment.

It is not a hyperbole to state that when you compare Donald Trump as President with Obama as President.

The comparison is tantamount to comparing Night and Day in my judgment.

Obama was a classic on how to be a President without a single scandal or blemish for a man who received the Nobel Peace Award within a year of his coming to office and without dropping a sweat.

That was an honor that Donald Trump would have killed to have but the honor has eluded him forever by becoming the worst and the most controversial outlaw ever to sleep in the Lincoln bed room at the Peoples House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the nation’s capital.

Not once in Trump’s 4 years of the Locust in the White House was he able to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, talk less of hosting the Assemblage of Musicians and creative black or white artists like Obama had done as his parting gift to a great nation and as part of his amazing legacies as one of the most unforgettable Presidents of all times in the History of the United States.

I see a compelling reason to make this comparative analysis on a special day like today when the January 6 Committee,
at its final sitting could predictably make some criminal referrals to the DOJ based on the outcome of their investigation of the twice- impeached outlaw President who had broken many more Laws than he had kept or observed in all of his 4 terrible years in the White House in an effort to prove to all and sundry that he is above the Law and consequently an existential threat to Democracy America has ever witnessed in a politician.

Donald Trump has put America in a double bind of a Cul de Sac. If he is indicted and convicted he would be the first in the History of America to be so humiliated. If he is left off the hook for the same reason his Presidency would have destroyed the foundation pillar of Democracy that the Law is no respecter of persons and that no man is above the Law in America.

Trump would have become by default King Louis the XIV of France when he equated himself with the state and when he made his pronouncement in French “L’Etat c’est Moi”

I rest my case.
