The angry protesters did not allow the church to hold service on Monday as they insisted that the church and the cleric must perform the necessary rituals to cleanse the town as well as bury the snake like a human being.

The cleric who is an indigene of Orogun community in Ughelli North Local Government Area scaled the fence and fled the scene before the protesters arrived.

Newspot learnt that it is forbidden for anyone to kill a boa in Okeagbe community because the indigenes regard the snake as deity which the community worship.

The boa always enter the town during and after the Okeagbe community’s festival. It does not harm human beings including domestic animals like goat, dog and cat.
