Staff of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Jalingo, under the umbrella of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria on Monday commenced an indefinite strike over seven years of unpaid allowances.

This was contained in a circular dated November 7, 2022, and signed by Comrade Ibrahim Yusuf and Comrade Yahuda Atwen, the chairman and secretary respectively.

The union explained that the decision follows a non-compliance to the seven days ultimatum issued to the state governor, Darius Ishaku, to clear their seven years of outstanding allowances or risk strike action by the union.
