The 71-year-old was at Old Trafford on Sunday to attend his first game since his investment was announced.
Ratcliffe’s deal, which is awaiting ratification, could go through in early February.
Sir Dave Brailsford has attended every United fixture since the deal was announced, while Jean-Claude Blanc was at the 2-0 win against Wigan in the FA Cup.
But Ratcliffe is the figurehead of the investment, and he admits he’s been looking at investing in the club for many years.
‘This is the first match for me since we got here. I am very excited to be here. Big match. We normally do well against Spurs,’ said Ratcliffe.
Asked if the move is the most exciting in his career, Ratcliffe said it was.
‘That’s right. Yes. I’ve done some exciting things, but there’s no doubt,’ he said.
