Abuja, Nigeria – October 1, 2025: As Nigeria celebrates her 65th Independence Anniversary, Dr. Olu Agunloye, the National Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has urged Nigerian leaders to embrace the principles that can guarantee true independence and national transformation.

In his official Independence Day message, Dr. Agunloye stressed that Nigeria’s leaders must adopt what he termed the four CsCharacter, Competence, Courage, and Compassion – in all their operations if the country is to overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable progress.

“For Nigeria to be truly independent, our leaders must pay mandatory attention to these four Cs in all their operations,” Dr. Agunloye declared.

He emphasized that independence should not only be celebrated as a political milestone but must also reflect in the quality of governance, accountability, and people-centered policies. According to him, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is committed to promoting leadership values that will restore trust in governance, strengthen democracy, and unlock Nigeria’s vast potential.
