Newcastle University is pleased to offer sanctuary scholarships consisting of full tuition fee support and a bursary for living expenses for applicants wishing to study at the university. The scholarships have been designed to enable students from asylum-seeker backgrounds to progress to higher levels of study.

- Applicants must be living in the UK at the time that they apply.
- Applicants must be asylum seekers, children of asylum seekers and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and refugee status individuals.
- Applicants must meet the entry requirements of the course they wish to join at Newcastle University. Ideally, high school graduation, a bachelor or master’s degree certification.
- Applicants must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests: IELTS – 6.5 or higher, depending on the course-specific requirements.
