Los Angeles, California — Renowned Hollywood filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, have been found dead inside their Brentwood home in Los Angeles, authorities confirmed on Sunday, triggering a full-scale homicide investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics were dispatched to the residence on Sunday afternoon following a medical emergency call. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the bodies of a man and a woman inside the home. Law enforcement sources later confirmed the deceased as Rob Reiner, aged 78, and his wife Michele, aged 68.
Preliminary findings indicate that both victims suffered apparent stab wounds, prompting investigators to treat the deaths as suspicious. The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division has since taken over the case.

Rob Reiner was a towering figure in American film and television, celebrated for his work both in front of and behind the camera. He rose to prominence as Mike “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family before going on to direct a string of critically acclaimed films including This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, and A Few Good Men. His work shaped multiple generations of cinema and popular culture.
Michele Singer Reiner was a photographer and producer and had been married to Reiner since 1989. The couple shared three children and were known for their long-standing involvement in philanthropic and civic causes.
