Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has said that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has surprised him with his displays at the ongoing World Cup.
The former Barcelona forward produced another stellar display for Les Bleus in their Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final win over Morocco.
France became the first nation since Brazil in 1962 to reach the World Cup finals back-to-back.
They overpowered Morocco 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium to book a date with Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The French goals came through the boots of Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani.
Griezmann was drafted to the right side of Didier Deschamps’ midfield three.
He is allowed to get forward and create, and he has laid on the most chances of any player in Qatar.
BBC pundit Didier Drogba hailed the midfielder following the win over Morocco.
“Antoine Griezmann has surprised me but he has the intelligence and quality to do it,” said the former Chelsea striker.
“He looks more like Kante than Griezmann!”
