Abuja — The Presidency has dismissed as false and misleading a viral image circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua in hospital.
In a clarification issued from Aso Rock, the Presidency stated that the image being shared online is not authentic and does not represent any hospital visit by the President. Officials stressed that President Tinubu did not physically visit Anthony Joshua, contrary to claims being pushed on social media.
According to the Presidency, the President only spoke with Joshua by phone to express concern and offer prayers following reports of his accident. It added that President Tinubu was outside the country at the time, making the alleged visit impossible.
The Presidency therefore urged the public to disregard the circulating image, describing it as fake or misleading content designed to spread misinformation.
It also warned Nigerians to rely on official government communication channels and credible media platforms for verified information, especially on sensitive matters involving public figures.
