Eddie Nketiah may still leave Arsenal this summer with a Premier League club reportedly in talks to sign the wantaway striker.
The one-cap England international looked destined to sign for Olympique Marseille after agreeing personal terms with the French side.
However, the two clubs were unable to agree on a fee for Nketiah with Arsenal holding out for €30million (£25.6m).
Marseille have now reportedly informed the Gunners that they are pulling the plug on the transfer and have instead agreed a deal to sign Lens forward Elye Wahi.
It’s a blow for Nketiah who was keen to link up with manager Roberto De Zerbi and secure regular game time having made just 10 Premier League starts last season.
But the 25-year-old may still get his move away from the Emirates after all, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Bournemouth have shortlisted the striker as they eye up a replacement for Dominic Solanke.
Solanke completed a club record £65m move to Tottenham last Saturday, leaving the Cherries needing to fill the void left by the player who scored 19 goals last season.
They have initially targeted Porto’s Evanilson but after their opening offer was rejected they’re exploring other options.
One of those is Nketiah and it is said talks have already been held between the two Premier League sides over a transfer.
It is likely that Bournemouth will want to sign a replacement quickly with the new season kicking-off this weekend.
The Cherries travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, with Arsenal hosting Wolves at the same time.
