The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress workers in Oyo State, on Wednesday, joined their counterparts nationwide to stage a peaceful protest around Ibadan, the state capital.

The state Chairmen of NLC and TUC, Kayode Matins and Bosun Olabiyi, respectively, had earlier disclosed that the spirit of Aluta would determine whether they will move around the town or not.

The NLC state Chairman, Martins said the workers would move from Secretariat to Mokola Round-About, Agodi-Gate, and back to the Secretariat to continue their protest until the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, personally address them.

The PUNCH reports that the workers in the state have been protesting since Monday to demand palliatives, an upward review of pension allowances, and payment of salary deduction among others, before the National body of the NLC and TUC, announced, on Tuesday, that all the workers to embark on nationwide protest over removal of fuel subsidy.
