Ogun: So-Safe arrests suspected cultist for bike theft, recovers firearm

The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly specializing in snatching motorbikes and robbing traders.

A statement by the So-Safe Corps spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf, identified the suspect as Ojo Fagbenro; a resident of Iju-Aga, Abekoko in Iju-Ishaga, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to Yusuf, the suspect was arrested by officers of the corps in Oke-Aro/Olambe Division, while on routine patrol at about 8 pm.

Newspot learnt that he was apprehended while trying to rob phone accessory sellers on the bridge at Abule Ekun, Giwa, along Ijoko road.

“The suspect, during preliminary investigation confessed to the crime, and then revealed that he is the ‘Number Three’ leader of the deadly Eye confraternity in the area,” Yusuf said.

He added that one locally-made pistol, charms and a small bag was recovered from the suspect.

Meanwhile, all items found on the suspect had been handed over to the police in Ajuwon division as directed by the So-Safe Commander, Soji Ganzallo.
