Ogun LG Chairman Wale Adedayo Out of DSS Detention

The embattled Chairman of Ijebu East local government area of Ogun state, Wale Adedayo, detained by the Department of State Security Service since Friday has regained freedom.

Adedayo had accused the state governor, Dapo Abiodun of allegedly withholding the statutory Federal Allocation due to the state’s Local Governments in the last two years.

Abiodun, Adedayo alleged had not paid a dime to Local government accounts as federal allocation in the last two years.

On Friday afternoon, Adedayo had honoured the invitation of the security agency over his allegation against Abiodun of allegedly diverting funds belonging to the local government.

Adedayo was grilled for several hours at the DSS headquarters in Abeokuta,  before he was eventually detained.

The council chairman had visited the DSS office on Thursday on the same matter but was released.
