A Nigerian man has taken to social media to flaunt the gifts a bride’s family gifted the couple on their traditional wedding day in Ebonyi state.
Showing in the video, the man noted that the traditional wedding of the couple was holding in Umueziukwu community, Onicha-Igboeze, Ebonyi State.
According to the man, it is the custom of the people to gift their daughter bountiful items to satisfy the bride and also to wish her farewell in her marital life. The bride’s family are bound to gift the newly wedded couple as they traditionally tie the knot.
In the viral video, the man recorded numerous gift items bought for the bride which includes; kitchen utensils, generator, dining table set, bedstand and mattress, several wrappers, mini refrigerator, wardrobe, gas cylinder, furniture and some baby items.
He stated that after the celebration the family will hand over the gifts to the newly wedded couple.
Reactions have trailed online after the video of the bride’s wedding gift surfaced online, with many astonished with the amount of items gifted to the bride as she embarks on her journey as a married woman. While some compares the people’s marriage customs to other tribes, others hailed the bride’s family for the expensive gift items.
